Clinical Supervision (BACS) /Social Work Ethics (3CEUS) – IN PERSON

This workshop will fulfill the required (3) clinical hours of (BACS) supervision as mandated and required by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners or Social Work Ethics. This workshop aims to help participants establish understanding of the basics of supervision from a social work perspective. Information presented in this presentation will help participants distinguish engagement in administrative and clinical supervision, while increasing awareness in various supervisory types and accountabilities. Further, this workshop aims to help develop an understanding of the styles and performance of supervision and supervisory techniques through discussing issues in supervision and how to deal with issues often displayed in practical applications.

 

Objective:
  • Understand the basics of supervision from a social work perspective.
  • Be able to distinguish between and engage in some practical examples of administrative and clinical supervision.
  • Become aware of various supervisory types and accountabilities.
  • Develop an understanding of the performance of supervision, style, and how they are developed.
  • Investigate a collection of supervisory interactions and styles.
  • Consider some complicated issues in supervision and how to deal with building trust, complicated relationships, shame, honesty, forgiveness, power and authority.
  • Review and discuss Social Work Code of Ethics
  • Discussion of Ethical Conflicts and Dual Relationships in Supervision
  • Participants will increase learning and participation in discussions on the Code of Ethics update on cultural competence and Self Care.
