Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 3 Clinical Hours – VIRTUAL

This three-hour clinical workshop is appropriate for undergraduate and for those who do advance clinical practice. The workshop will explain how CBT is appropriate for individuals who suffer with Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder and Substance Abuse. In addition, we will review the diagnostic criteria for PTSD and SA. Further discussion will review the literature on comorbidity and link between clients who suffer with both disorders.

Objective:

• To overview the link between PTSD and substance abuse and identify critical treatment issues
• To overview the theoretical and empirical foundations of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
• To increase clinical knowledge and skill in applying CBT treatment methods to individuals with co-occurring PTSD and SA
