What Clinicians need to know about Grief and Bereavement 3CEUS Clinical – VIRTUAL

This presentation and research is intended to help familiarize clinicians and attendees with the research on how to help your clients and others cope with grief, mourning and anxiety. The presenter was inspired to do this research because of experiencing loss and injury of loved ones during the period of Corona 19. As the researcher I write and explore this topic, I am experiencing my own grief, loss and anxiety yet feel inspired to help others process their own grief and feelings. In many ways this is one way I cope with the uncertainty, loss, anxiety, social isolation and shock we are all experiencing.

This presentation is intended for each one of us beginning and advanced clinician that work with individuals who are suffering from some loss.

 

Objective:
  • Participants will increase their understanding of the Mourning Process
  • We will learn and explore the social workers’ own loss and grief to minimize burnout.
  • We will discuss Counseling Principles and procedures.
  • We will identify the goals of Grief Counseling
  • Participants will explore Attachment, Loss and The Experience of Grief
  • We will learn to identify and dispel myths about Grieving
  • Participants will learn what the American Psychological Association has to say about Grief in the DSM V-TR.
